Tandem with Stephen
Tandem flight with Stephen, March 8th, 2020.
So I went tandem with Stephen. Holy balls!!! ðĩðĨīðĪĒðĪŪðĪŊð I've gone tandem a few times before, but not since I've learned to fly solo, and NEVER had a full-blown experience like this one. Where to begin???
1.) We launched the 750 and thought it would be the shortest tandem flight ever, but Stephen somehow worked his way up and saved it!
2.) I've never been to cloud base before. So magical!!! ðĪâïļ
3.) I've never been so cold in my life even with thermals and gloves on. âïļðŽ
4.) I've never had a close call with an airliner before (that loud sound of its' engines will haunt me for the rest of my life! ð).
5.) I've never flown backwards before (high winds in places were blowing us backwards for a moment even with full speed bar/trimmers).
6.) I've never experienced a frontal collapse before (it recovered quickly and before I even realized what happened), and last but definitely not least,...
7.) I've never experienced a spiral, wing-overs, or barrel rolls before!!! We had the GoPro Max going, but that video will NEVER do it all justice. It has to be experienced to be believed. ð The G-forces, the gnarly sound of the wing speeding through the air and looking at the wing traveling under you instead of over your head,.. just wow. It's the craziest roller coaster you'll ever ride. No visible tracks, no idea what's next,.. it's insane. I have a new-found respect for Stephen's flying. He's even more bad-ass than I believed. ð
Here are some pictures I took from the air. I didn't take many, because I could barely feel my hands. We also saw Bruce flying his crazy propeller wing, saw a helicopter, and a private single-prop plane flying below us. Yeah, I'll probably never forget this experience. ð Would I recommend it? Yes. Yes I would. ððĪŠ
