About - Dream Source Studio | Photography by J.P.

My name is Jana (pronounced "Yana", for all you non-Europeans) and I've been immersed in the world of photography for the last 15 years.

Growing up surrounded by the beautiful forested hills, green meadows and rocky mountains of Eastern & Western Europe, I've always had the desire to capture these views in vibrant color and bring those memories home with me.

It wasn't long before landscape and travel photography expanded into wildlife,... wildlife telephoto lenses gave way to sports, and now I don't know whether I'll end up at the wetlands photographing birds, or in the mountains capturing action-packed acro paragliders, high-speed hang gliders,... or maybe by the beach shooting pro-surfing! Whatever I end up shooting, I'm enjoying it & always looking for a little (or big) adventure to go with the pictures.

I hope you enjoy at least some of the images my website has to offer. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail: jpivkova@protonmail.com

Thank you for looking!

If you see images in my gallery that you'd like to share or purchase, you have a few options. Each gallery and photo contains a small menu with icons at the bottom of the screen that allow you to either share it to social media with a watermark,... or you can purchase multiple or single photos either as digital downloads (small, medium, large or original ), or various formats of print without a watermark.

Each photo is uploaded at the highest quality possible, so any of them should make great prints or wallpaper backgrounds for high resolution screens. I currently use a 20 megapixel crop sensor and a 24 megapixel full frame camera, which is enough resolution for most large prints, wallpapers, or screen savers. If you just want a digital download for social media sharing or future printing without a watermark however, that's also available and extremely affordable.

For commercial use, please contact me directly at jpivkova@protonmail.com

Although it seems simple enough to take the picture, download it from the camera and upload it to my website, it does take a LOT of work and many hours to get the images to look their best.

There's no doubt that smartphones make good little cameras these days, but we are definitely still far from being able to rely on them for all of our photographic needs. Dedicated cameras and lenses still outperform them for image quality, especially when the lights drop or when the subject is farther away, and that is why many photographers (including myself ) spend a lot of money on quality tools.

Aside from having to use expensive lenses, camera bodies and software to get great results, I can easily spend two full working days processing 1,000 to 2,000 photos, of which only half might make it into the gallery as I go through a culling process.

Once I am finished processing the photos, I have to consider the cost of keeping this website running. My goal is to try to offer people the best viewing and sharing experience possible. By purchasing prints or downloads, no matter how big or small, you help me keep all of this going. It's always nice to know that what you do matters to someone, and for that reason your patronage is very deeply appreciated!
